Oxo-biodegradable Polyethylene Shrink Wrap

At Flints we want to give you options! Shrink Wrap/Pallet Wrap is a really useful consumable but disposable plastic product. We've found an alternative but it's not perfect! Oxo-biodegradable means that the plastic will break down in the environment, now this means if any Shrink Wrap finds itself outside of the recycling process it will break down into smaller pieces and broken down by microorganisms. Great for breaking down plastic waste in the environment but does mean microplastics are released.

We'll keep an eye out for bio based (plastic derived from biomass) bio degradable shrink wrap that's compostable but we've haven't found a suitable one! Let us know if you do.

We've been testing this one out in our warehouse and we're impressed by how strong it is.

• Recyclable and contains 30% recycled content
• Non toxic in soil and does not contain any heavy metals. It meets the requirements of BS 8472:2011, ASTM D 6954:2004, UAE.S 5009.2009 and SASO 2879/2016. Exceeds the requirements of EN 13432-2000-11, Annex A.
• Useful life of a minimum of 18 months without any mechanical detriment, following 3- 6 months of rapid fragmentation.
• When stored or used outdoors, rapid fragmentation will happen in 3 - 6 months.
