Epifanes manufacture a large range of superior quality primers for exacting marine use.
Multi Marine Primer can be used on steel, wood, glass fibre, aluminium, galvanised and stainless steel! Suitable for use above the waterline.
It dries to a satin finish which can be attractive just left, or it can be overcoated with one and two component paints. In fact it is the only single component paint that I know of that can be overcoated with a two component paint.

Specification
Clean up with white spirits.
Sandable after 6 hrs, recoatable after 12 hrs [48 hrs for two-part products].
Coverage is approximately 12 square metres per litre @ 50 µm dry film thickness [80 µm wet].
