Mylands Flat Spirit Paint has been designed specifically for use in fast paced film, theatre and TV environments where time is of the essence, this quick drying shellac-based paint is touch dry in just 15 minutes.
This convenience is made possible by the spirit base of the paint, so take care on previously painted surfaces as the solvent can begin to strip the surface below. This is also true when applying additional coats of the Spirit Paint, particularly when brushing or rollering, the previous coat can ‘rewet’ move around a little but it shouldn’t have too much of an effect on the final finish.
It’s also a little temperamental with application temperatures, if it’s too hot or too cold blooming can occur so must be used as close to 20°C as possible. The price you pay for convenience is a fussier paint but one that has exceptional hiding power and sealing ability whilst still retaining a very low reflectance matt finish.
